St. Patrick’s Day Wine & Irish Cheese Tasting!
March 18 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join us for the 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Wine & Irish Cheese Tasting at Royal Rabbit Vineyards!
First, enjoy either our Il Barone or our La Comtesse with Kerrigold’s Blarney Cheese
Il Barone is one of our favorite reds. It has a lovely aroma and refreshing acidity. It is lighter in color and lower in tannin. All these characteristics make this a great red to pair with the Blarney cheese.
La Comtesse: s a golden medium-bodied chardonnay good aroma and refreshing acidity.
Blarney Cheese: A mild and creamy cow’s milk cheese with rich and velvety undertones. It both feels and tastes similar to a young Dutch Gouda cheese and makes a perfect complement to fresh fruit and a glass of crisp wine.
Next, enjoy either The Duke and The Marquise to pair with Kerrigold’s Vintage Dubliner The Duke is a medium-dark blend of 4 grapes with tart cherry flavors and spicy, sometimes smokey tannins. (Cabernet Franc Merlot Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon)
The Marquise is made from the Viognier Grape. It has both more aroma and fuller body( mouth feel ) than most white wines allowing it to pair with a harder saltier cheese
Kerrygold Vintage Dubliner: robust aged cow’s milk cheese with a bit of a hard texture similar to a Cheddar. In one bite you can taste the diversity of flavors – from nutty to sharp to sweet. This diversity of complex flavors makes it a perfect pairing with a full-bodied wine like our Royal Rabbit Vineyards The Duke or Marquisse.
Finally enjoy either our Prophetess or our Royal Frost Viscount with the classic Kerrigold Cashel Blue
The Prophetess is a sparkling off-dry mead. Its floral, herbal, and nutty flavors and aromas will complement this blue and refresh your pallet so you can enjoy more
The Royal Frost Viscount is a sweet after-dinner red with concentrated dark raspberry flavors.
Kerrigold Cashel Blue is a semi-soft, creamy Irish farmhouse cheese, distinguished by its round, full flavor and signature tang. Its buttery color is punctuated by characteristic blue veining. Cashel Blue’s robust flavor profile makes it a worthy companion to sweeter wines.
